It’s not all work and no play at AAUW. In addition to working on programs that support our branch’s goals and mission, you’re invited to join our interest groups. They’re a great way to meet new people and get to know other AAUW members socially.
Whether you like to read books, play bridge, cook dinner, or go out on the town, there’s a group for you. For information about our interest groups, use the Contact page to email any of our officers.
- Book Club. The Book Club meets at 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. Until the pandemic, meetings were held at a member’s home. The group is Zooming now until it’s safe to meet in person again.
- Bridge Group. Bridge aficionados meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., except in January. Until the pandemic, the game was played at the home of a group member. Now, the group is meeting online for virtual bridge until it’s safe to meet in person again.
- Out-and-About Group. You’ll get the chance to visit local attractions and go out to lunch with the Out-an- About Group. The pandemic has put in-person events on hold, but there may be some opportunities for virtual touring.
- Dinner Club. Singles as well as couples are welcome in the Dinner Club. Four dinners, each for eight people, are held during the year. Regular members host one dinner and are guests at the other four. Substitute members fill in when a regular member cannot attend. In addition to the regular dinners, the club has an end-of-year event that all branch members and their guests are invited to attend. Plans for club dinners and the end-of-year event are now on hold due to the pandemic.
